This placid scene of whales is one that can no longer be seen.
It was painted on the back side of the InterContinental Hotel in Chicago about ten years ago. Since then, that work of art has been covered up by the construction of a new residential tower called Avenue East, which backs up right into the painting.
I once went to Chicago for a job interview, and the company put me up in this hotel. I ended up with one of the windows that's part of the mural. No one will ever be part of that again.
